The Blue Skimmer is a common Australian Dragonfly. The species is widespread throughout Australia. There is not that much information on them that I can find.

There isn’t very much information about the Blue Skimmer on Wikipedia, but it is worth a visit to see the photo of the female. It is totally different colouring to the male and could easily be mistaken for some other type of Dragonfly.
