Smooth Rice Flower

Locally in Wedderburn, Vic, this plant is known as a Bread and Butter plant.  It’s a native and there are plenty to be seen around the bush when they are in flower.  However in trying to find out more about them, I can only find them described as a Smooth Rice Flower with the botanical name of Pimelea Glauca.

A lot of the images I’ve looked at show the flowers as white, but in this area they are a creamy colour, hence the name of the bread and butter plant.

The plants have a prolific number of flowers which are mainly during Spring.  Some information here comes from the VicFlora site. See what you think of the naming and let me know if you disagree.
