House Sparrow

Whilst the House Sparrow is not a particularly favourite or native bird, they are quite predominant in residential areas. They are certainly residents in our backyard.  I am only including them in this record of photos because they are here in Australia.

Nobody can confirm for sure whether House Sparrows were introduced accidentally or purposely to Australia.

They are opportunistic feeders. Although they prefer a diet of seed and grains, they will eat insects and anything else that’s available at times.

There is more about them on Wikipedia.
