Yes, getting to page one on Google has never been easier. And it's simply by doing the very thing that Google loves most. Adding content to your site! A couple of weeks ago Google added a new feature to their search. When you do a search, you will see a hyperlink to "Show Options". This provides you with the ability to get recent results on your search term. (Click on the Read More link to view rest of the article)

Why Is This Important?

Two reasons spring to mind:-

  1. First of all, if you are searching for information, a lot of the time you will want to find information that is current and not 5 years old. Many times the information or listings appearing on the front page of Google will be aged because the sites have built up back links and have good Page Rank.
  2. Secondly, it demonstrates the value of regularly adding content to your site. People using this facility to view Recent Results are going to find you.

As an example, I recently did a blog post on my Internet Consulting site about my Internet Marketing Seminars for Offline Business. The key phrase I focus on for this site is "internet consultant" and by searching for that term and using Recent Results, look at what pops up at number one on Google.

This highlights the importance of adding regular content to your site and in particular blog posts so you can get noticed in the biggest search engine of them all.

This is but one of many ways of getting on the front page of Google, but it is a very handy tool to add to your arsenal for search engine marketing. If you have an offline business, another extremely useful tool is the Local Search Dominator which can also get you listed in prime position on the front page of Google.

I'd love to hear your comments on this and if you have tried the additional options in Google.
