You know how it gets. You look at your site every couple of days and after a while you get bored with it. It's a good thing in a way as a facelift doesn't hurt from time to time. And that's exactly what has happened here at Bushsong.  Out with the old and in with the new. A complete redesign with some great new Joomla extensions added and some old outdated content removed.

One of the bright new features is the new blog.  I have used the Superblogger extension to run this and it is really feature packed.  Superblogger had some teething problems, particularly in integrating with the search engine friendly URL component I use, sh404SEF.  But everything seems to be bedded down now and working well. If you have your avatar registered at Gravatar, it will even pull in your photo when you post a comment to a blog post.

I'm using a Yootheme template called Flux. I haven't used any of these templates before, but I have taken out a membership as I was quite impressed with some of the templates they have on offer.  They also have some great extensions that I intend to integrate over the coming weeks.

One thing that is coming shortly is some videos on Joomla.  I have already completed three of these so clients and site members can learn how to add content and images to their own Joomla sites. I have one to go at this stage on adding information for search engine optimization purposes.  If you have any suggestions for other videos on making Joomla work better for you as a user, feel free to include them in the comment section to this post.

The other big new thing on the site is a form where prospective clients can request a free consultation about web development work.  I've been wanting to get this particular item on the site for a while now and it's finally done.  So if you are considering any web development work, don't hesitate to fill the form out so we can have a chat.

Cheers for now!
